BOULDER, Colo. (KDVR) — A shelter-in-place was issued for a barricaded armed person who was inside a north Boulder home for several hours. According to the Boulder Police Department, officers were called to an armed person who barricaded themself inside a home near 17th Street and Yarmouth Avenue in the North Broadway-Holiday neighborhood. BPD originally tweeted about the incident at 12:05 a.m. Officers said the individual broke into the home and no one else was inside at the time. MEXICO CITY (AP) — Migrants fearing deportation set mattresses ablaze at an immigration detention center in northern Mexico, starting a fire that left 39 dead, the president said Tuesday following one of the the deadliest incidents ever at an immigration lockup in the country.Hours after the fire broke out late Monday, rows of bodies were laid out under shimmery silver sheets outside the facility in Ciudad Juarez, which is across from El Paso, Texas, and a major crossing point for migrants. Ambulances, firefighters and vans from the morgue swarmed the scene.Thirty-nine people died and 29 were injured and are in “delicate-serious” condition, according to the National Immigration Institute. An overturned tractor-trailer on the intersection of the southbound lanes of US-27 and Interstate 75 has caused major traffic disruptions in the area. The incident occurred Tuesday morning when the vehicle, which appeared to be heading eastbound to go south on US-27, lost control and overturned due to a load shift.Weston Fire Rescue responded to the scene and treated two people in the cab of the semi-truck. A man struck and killed by a bus at Boston’s Logan International Airport was a 47-year-old Lexington resident who had gone to the airport to pick up a friend, Massachusetts State Police said Tuesday.Vishwachand Kolla was standing outside his SUV parked curbside at the Terminal B lower level roadway at about 5 p.m. Monday when the Dartmouth Transportation motor coach made contact with him, according to the preliminary state police investigation.He was dragged along the driver’s side of his vehicle and sustained severe injuries, state police said.An off-duty nurse who was at the scene attempted lifesaving measures as did responding personnel from the Massport Fire Department and Boston EMS, but Kolla was pronounced dead at the scene.The bus driver, a 54-year-old woman whose name was not made public, declined medical treatment and was interviewed by state police troopers.The investigation to determine whether criminal charges are warranted is ongoing.The Concord, New Hampsh...Latest news
