Police in pursuit of suspected DUI driver in Los Angeles

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department are in pursuit of a driver in a pickup truck suspected of driving recklessly and being intoxicated. Police initiated the pursuit in the Santa Monica area with the suspect traveling westbound on the 10 Freeway before exiting at Lincoln Boulevard and eventually transitioning to the traffic-congested northbound 405 Freeway. As the pursuit continued, the driver exited at Burbank Boulevard, but continued straight to stay on the 405 Freeway. The driver is reportedly a female and there may be a child in the vehicle. In a brazen burglary spree, thieves have been targeting dozens of luxury cars along the Pacific Coast Highway near Las Flores Canyon, leaving some residents fearing for their safety. People living along that stretch of PCH woke up Memorial Day weekend to a knock at the door by a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy informing them of the break-ins. “Walking out and just seeing everything vandalized was just traumatizing,” a resident identified only as Leah told KTLA. “It’s like you don’t feel safe in your own home. Malibu is so peaceful everyone loves coming here.” Surveillance cameras from Leah’s home captured the thieves breaking into her Range Rover, which was parked in the driveway. By Bay City NewsCaltrans plans to close a portion of all southbound lanes of Interstate 680 in Pleasanton this weekend.The I-680 freeway will be closed in the southbound direction between Sunol Boulevard and Koopman Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.The closure is being done to replace a portion of deteriorated roadway with new pavement. The work will make roads safer for drivers, while reducing the need for nightly closures, according to a Caltrans advisory.Caltrans will place signs warning of the closure to inform motorists and they will stay in place throughout the weekend. ANTIOCH – A 46-year-old man is facing murder and attempted murder charges in connection with a shooting last month in Antioch, police said.The shooting was reported May 25 around 8:45 p.m. in the 4400 block of Delta Fair Boulevard. Officers arrived to find a 43-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The man survived, but the woman died of her injuries.Detectives with the Antioch Police Department identified the suspect as Brian Yacopetti. He was arrested five days later in Brentwood with the help of the U.S. Marshal Service.In a statement Thursday, police said Yacopetti was in a domestic relationship with the woman. (KRON) -- A woman was arrested for bringing drugs into a Redwood City jail, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office (SMCSO) announced Thursday in a press release. Dafne Araceli Largaespada, 41, is accused of bringing drugs into Maple Street Correctional Facility on Tuesday. (KRON) -- A Mountain View man has been reported missing by police after he was seen leaving a family member's home Thursday morning. Isidoro Mauricio was seen by a gardener leaving the residence on the 2000 block of Latham Street at about 8 a.m. Mauricio lives on the 100 block of East Middlefield Road. The Mountain View Police Department said he is considered at-risk due to a medical condition. He did not have a phone or car when he left the residence Thursday morning. Gilroy man reported missing since last week "Numerous places have been checked, but as of now there is no further information about his location," MVPD said. Police did not list Mauricio's age. Mauricio is described as 5-foot-6, 165 pounds and has gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black ballcap, a blue polo shirt, blue khaki pants and black tennis shoes.
